Rabbit runs Ickworth village store.
One day a doggy came to Rabbit's store. Rabbit had never seen him before.
"Are you new here?" asked Rabbit.
"Yes," said the doggy, "I just moved in."
Rabit welcomed the doggy to the village and they began chatting.
"Tell me," said the doggy, "what are the people like here?"
"What were they like where you lived before?" asked Rabbit.
"Oh, they were lovely," said the doggy, "so kind and helpful and friendly."
"You'll find people here are just the same," said Rabbit.
Next day a cat came to Rabbit's store. Rabbit had never seen him before.
"Are you new here?" asked Rabbit.
"Yes," said the cat, "I just moved in."
Rabit welcomed the cat and they began chatting.
"Tell me," said the cat, "what are the people like here?"
"What were they like where you lived before?" asked Rabbit.
"Oh, they were horrible," said the cat, "so mean, miserable and unfriendly."
"I'm afraid you'll find the people here just the same," said Rabbit.
A few weeks passed, and guess what?
Both the doggy and the cat discovered that Rabbit was right.
